Overwatch Free Weekend

Share it:
If you haven't heard yet, Overwatch is free for this weekend on the Playstation 4 and Xbox One. Sorry no PC included in there. For details about when the freeness finishes, CLICK HERE.

So for a while before Overwatch released I couldn't help but to be sceptical about a multiplayer only game that asks for a full retail price to get started. I played the BETA when it was running on all platforms and I liked it, but I never found the value there with the full price.
The hype built up over the time since Overwatch was released and it has become one of the most popular modern day online only shooters. The success obviously comes from its creator Blizzard's fine respect for detail when it comes to balancing, art and themes. Overwatch is bright, fast and brilliant. No matter which platform you play it on, you will be treated to bright colours, fantastic larger than life characters and even with such a massive roster of playable characters, the balancing is amazingly fine tuned.
Those that know me well enough know that I don't get along very well with other shooters like Call of Duty and Battlefield and often end up shelving those after being horribly bad at the time and time again. The balancing in Overwatch is so squared up that even I have the ability to be competitive in the online scene. Winning a game isn't everything, but it sure does make it a bit more enjoyable.

The characters in Overwatch are fun to pick and choose and because there are so many of them, it's easy to pick more than one character. Further to this, the differences in the characters are so different that when swapping from one to another, it doesn't feel like you're just opting for a skin change.
Without going on too long here, I implore you all that have the ability to do so, go and download the free trial of the game while it's on for this weekend. Even if you don't end up buying the game afterwards, it's worth giving it a go while it won't cost you a cent.

It's good to note that that this free "trial" has just about everything open to use so you won't have locked characters or maps. Plus, if you decide to pay for the game after the free weekend is over, your progress will remain.

Go off and enjoy.
